This was a book I started a while ago. At first I was trying to complete all the exercises included in it, but then I stalled, so I kept listening to it to finish it. I enjoyed the lesson in mantra that everything truly is figureoutable. I think it also has some good thought provoking ways to think about problems that come into our lives. I may want to return to this one in the future.

An interesting look into a life that was not a traditional one. At times it was hard to listen to (I listened to the audiobook version.) because of what she experienced. But overall, it reminded me of how resilient people can be despite difficult circumstances.

An extremely heartwarming novel! The octopus is hilarious- he has such a unique voice and perspective. The relationships that develop between Tova and the other characters are lovely. Her son dissapered at 18 and she never believed the verdict that it was suicide. Cameron is a 30 year old who needs some maturing. He goes in search of his father- they both end up working at an aquarium. They are both searching for answers, and it’s lovely to see the resolution.

I adored this book! I enjoyed the prospectives of Nella, Eliza, and Caroline. Caroline has just discovered that her husband was unfaithful on the eve of an anniversary trip to London. She goes London herself, stumbles upon a vial, and in turn a centuries old mystery. Both Nella and Eliza lived in the 1700s, and through their perspectives we learn what happened as Caroline is unraveling the mystery herself. I loved the parallelism in the perspectives, and how it all comes together at the end. I definitely recommend this one!

This book started out very slowly. It was hard to get into. However, by the end of the book, I felt deeply connected to the characters. I think that the fairytale portion is the most intriguing, in which you learn about Anya, Nina and Meredith’s mother, who has always been distant to them. The ending is absolutely stunning. It just took a while to get to that point. It is a book about the past, forgiveness, and love.

One day a box containing a string that shows the measure of each person’s life appears. It throws the world into chaos and division. As long stringers or short stringers try to figure out what to do with the knowledge. Told from the perspective of a cast of characters whose lives intertwine. Both heartbreaking and uplifting, I loved the thought provoking story and interesting concept.
