I’ve been wanting to read this one for a long time since my sister recommended it to me as one of her favorites. It did not disappoint! The story is a celebration of life and love. In the 1700s, Adeline bargains, her soul to be able to live freely. Only it goes wrong for her. No one can remember her. Until one day hundreds of years later, a boy in a bookstore can. It’s such a fun discovery of how everything ties together as different timelines weave together.

An interesting installment in the Uglies series. Told from the perspective of Aya Fuse, in a world where status means everything. She tries to do whatever she can to get more likes. It was an interesting statement on social media and being well known and its advantages and disadvantages. This book was published in 2007, and I think it would be interesting to see what Scott Westerfield (the author) would think about today’s social media. It was fun to have tally Youngblood and some others from the original trilogy show up in this book as well.

A fascinating memoir about two sisters, who loved opera and ended up helping Jew escape the Nazi regime. Although mostly interesting, sometimes I felt a little bogged down by all the facts presented. The author obviously conducted amazing research . Overall an inspiring story about do you seemingly everyday English Spinsters and how they were able to do some good.

I really enjoyed how this book spoke about creativity. It felt very inspiring to think about it in a way where you can play and find joy as you create. I also liked the notion of having a genius rather than being a genius. It often takes courage to live a creative life, and this book encourages and inspires everyone to find that creativity through committing to curiosity.

*I've started a few others, but I'll post about them next month - once I've finished them.
